TRAIL DATA
Our trail data comes initially from the NY State Office of Parks & Rec. We then contact our participating clubs to verify, update or add to this data. This can include local (non-funded) trails, public parking locations and club houses.
We contact the clubs each year in the fall to check for any changes.
We also include some corridor trails for non-participating clubs. We do this to benefit our business sponsors and to show riders unfamiliar with an area how to get from one region of trails to another region.
Please note that the non-participating clubs' corridor trails have come from the Office of Parks & Rec and have not been verified by the clubs. This information is however updated each fall.
Please note also that as of fall 2011, not all of our state's trails have been GPSed. You can see if a trail has been GPSed within the web map. Just click on the Info tool, then click on the trail segment or do a search for a particular club and look through the data table that pops up.
HELP SUPPORT OUR CLUBS
We are fortunate to have over 200 clubs with dedicated volunteers offering their time to keep trails open and groomed, providing an awesome riding experience. (Yeah OK, mother nature does her part too). Please help them out by giving our new $40 premium account a try this year - the majority of the money goes right back to the clubs for trail maintenance. |
